Who:This project welcomes dyad partners from the Fredericksburg City, Spotsylvania County, and Stafford County schools, along with the Central Rappahannock Regional Library. These dyad partners will consist of a classroom teacher (either 4th or 6th grade, where MWEE instruction occurs) in partnership with either their librarian/media specialist or their literacy specialist/coach.
What: During Fall 2019, dyad partners will collaborate to complete 30 hours of professional development focused on MWEEs, including 10 hours of curriculum development. Four professional development sessions will equip participants with key background knowledge focusing on science, literacy, and technology, and embedded support will be provided as dyad partners prepare to develop their own MWEE-focused curriculum integrating these three subject areas.
Where: Project sessions will take place at both the University of Mary Washington campus and the Crow's Nest Research Center. The Center is located on Accokeek Creek, across from the Crow's Nest Wildlife Preserve in Eastern Stafford County.
